Does Dropr work on a password-protected store?
Yes. You can install Dropr, turn it on and see it while your store has a password. Visitors without the password see only the password page, so they don't see Dropr until you open your store.

What works while your store has a password
Can I see Dropr on my store before I remove the password?
Yes. Home says Your store has a password, so only you can see Dropr for now. Enter your password on your store, then open a product page. Anyone else who has the password sees Dropr too. If you don't see it after entering the password, email support@heydropr.com.
Do visitors without the password see Dropr?
No. They see only Shopify's password page. Dropr shows for them once your store is open to the public.
Does Dropr count as live while the password is on?
Yes, once you open a product page on your store with the password entered. Previews in the theme editor don't count.
Do my own visits use Free plan views?
Yes. Each time a placement shows products to you on your store, it counts as a view, the same as for a shopper. Previews in the theme editor don't count.
Why is Dropr using its default style?
To match your look, Dropr reads your store the way a visitor does, and the password page blocks it. It uses a clean default style instead. Home says Dropr is using its default style while the password is on.
Why does Home say Dropr couldn't check my store?
Dropr checks one product page each day to make sure it's showing. The password page blocks that check, so Home says Your store has a password, so Dropr couldn't check it. It starts checking again once the password is off.
Match your colors after you remove the password
Dropr reads your store's look when it sets up. If the password was on then, it keeps the default style after you remove the password, so set your colors yourself.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store, click Private, select Public, and click Update. The first time, the button says Launch store. On a Shopify trial, Shopify asks you to pick a plan first.
- In Dropr, open Recommendations and pick You might also like.
- In Look, pick a Style and a Button color that match your store. See how to change the look.
- Click Save, then reload a product page on your store.
If you keep the password on for now, you can still pick a style and colors the same way.
