Canceling an app shouldn't be complicated, and with Dropr it isn't. Here's the complete process and what you can expect when it's done.
How to cancel your Dropr subscription
There are two ways to cancel: through the Shopify app admin, or by uninstalling the app entirely.
Option 1 — Cancel the subscription (keeps app installed):
Go to your Shopify admin → Apps → Dropr. Inside the Dropr dashboard, find Subscription settings or Billing. Click Cancel subscription. Confirm. Your subscription ends at the current billing period; the widgets stay live until then but won't renew.
Option 2 — Uninstall the app completely:
Go to your Shopify admin → Apps. Find Dropr in your installed apps list. Click Delete or Uninstall. Shopify will confirm the removal. This immediately removes the app and all associated widgets.
Either way, the process takes less than a minute.
What happens to your widgets after canceling
When you uninstall Dropr, the recommendation widgets are removed from your store automatically. This happens because Dropr uses Shopify's theme app extension system — the widgets are managed as a separate layer, not embedded into your theme files.
After uninstalling:
- The product page cross-sell widget is gone — your product pages return to their original layout
- The cart drawer widget is gone — cart opens and closes without the recommendation block
- Your theme files are unchanged — no code was added to them during installation, so none needs to be removed
- Your product catalog and store data are unaffected
Is there any code left behind in my theme?
No. Dropr does not inject code into your theme's liquid files, JavaScript files, or CSS files. The entire widget system operates through Shopify's app extension layer, which Shopify manages separately from your theme code.
This is different from older-style Shopify apps that would add snippets to your theme's product.liquid or inject script tags into your layout files. Those apps require manual cleanup after uninstalling. Dropr doesn't — removal is clean and automatic.
If you cancel during the free trial
Canceling within the 14-day free trial means you're never charged. The trial doesn't auto-convert to a paid subscription until after day 14 — cancel any time before that and there's nothing to pay.
To cancel before the trial ends, uninstall the app from Shopify admin before day 14. You can also contact support if you're unsure how many days remain.
What to check after uninstalling
After removing Dropr, do a quick visual check on your store:
- Visit a product page where the cross-sell widget appeared — confirm it's gone
- Add a product to cart and open the cart drawer — confirm the recommendation block is gone
- View your product page on mobile — confirm layout looks normal
In almost all cases, everything looks exactly as it did before you installed Dropr. If you notice anything unexpected, your theme's visual editor (Customize → Product page) can confirm no extra blocks are present.
Coming back later
If you cancel and decide to try Dropr again later, you can reinstall from the Shopify App Store. Your previous recommendation pairings are not saved after uninstalling — you'd start fresh. But setup only takes 3 minutes, so starting over is not a big deal.
The 14-day free trial is available once per store. Reinstalling after a previous trial starts a paid subscription immediately.

FAQ
Will canceling Dropr affect my store's performance?
No. Dropr's widgets add a small amount of JavaScript to your product pages. Removing them can only help page speed, not hurt it — though the difference is negligible either way.
Can I pause instead of cancel?
Dropr doesn't have a pause feature — it's either active or uninstalled. If you want to stop recommendations temporarily without losing your pairings configuration, you can disable the widgets from the Dropr dashboard without canceling the subscription.
Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
Shopify handles app billing, and their policy is that app charges are non-refundable once billed. To avoid being charged for a period you don't use, cancel before your next billing date.
